GLOBAL SWITCH SYDNEY
Global Switch, an international data storage company, engaged LoveArt to commission a work for its 50 metre street front in Sydney. The brief was to activate the street front and engage both passing road traffic and pedestrians. Peter Henessey's Root Level (2010) is now one of the largest public artworks in Australia. The giant plywood root system over 3 metres in height and 50 metres across gives reference to the building’s function. Connecting the interior of the building to the outside world, the roots continue beyond the buildings windows and hint at the strange simulated garden growing within.
